If you’re in the mood for some exhilarating, yet spooky Halloween things to do in San Diego, but are looking for something a bit more exciting and unique than the standard haunted house, why not go shoot some zombies?
Get ready to live out your favorite scenes from The Walking Dead as you and some friends head out to the desert where you’ll be able to unload rounds on zombie targets that actually bleed. This isn’t laser tag practice, you’ll be firing away using an AR-15 or Glock 19. Even if any actual zombies happen to wander out onto the range, they’ll still not stand a chance against you and your well-armed buddies.
Zombie Industries posted a FunGig that provides free transportation to the desert out in Ocotillo Desert on November 11, 2017 where your dreams of hunting down zombies will come to life. If you would rather drive yourself, you can make your way to the desert on your own or join in on the caravan. The cost is $150 per person and the adventure takes a total of about five hours, with three hours on the range. It’s a daytime event with time slots from 9:00AM to noon or noon to 3:00PM. Included in the price is 100 rounds of ammunition, hearing protection, bleeding zombie targets, and use of the guns. If you’d like you are free to bring your own weapons as well.
During your adventure, you’ll be accompanied by a former US Marine Corps sniper who can offer you some expert advice and help you mow down some brain-eaters even if this is your first time using the weapons. Should you work up an appetite while preventing the zombie apocalypse, lunch is also provided free of charge. Be sure to pack some additional snacks, a hat, and some layered clothing. Autumn is the perfect time to go out to the desert, with the weather sunny but not as stifling hot as it can be during the summer, but you still will want to be protected from the sun and prepared for some cooler weather in the evening.
Funseekers can get some friends together and purchase a FunGig that will make this Halloween one to remember.
