When you’re looking for things to do in San Diego, heading to the beach is always a great idea. One of the most popular beach activities, and a great way to get a workout, is beach volleyball. There’s no better way to enjoy the beautiful beaches of San Diego, catch some rays, get sweat going, and enjoy some friendly competition than by learning how to play beach volleyball.
Group Volleyball Class with Tim is now available as a FunGig, and when you sign up you will learn all of the basic techniques that legendary kings of the beach like Karch Kiraly and Sinjin Smith have out to use. Not only that, you’ll learn to love a new sport and make some new friends along the way. One of the biggest appeals of beach volleyball is that you can dive on the sand without fear of floor burns and other injuries, and after a few games you can jump in the ocean to cool off and rinse off the sand. Tim and his staff will be on hand to teach you how to bump, set, spike, and serve, as well as some offensive and defensive strategies that will help make you a winner. If you’re in search of things to do in San Diego this weekend, sign up for beach volleyball classes.
Tim’s group lessons take place in South Mission Beach from 9:00am to 11:00am and the FunGig costs $120 for four lessons. Balls and nets are provided, but you’ll want to bring along sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and a backpack to hold your stuff. You may also want to bring along a beach towel in case you decide to hop in the water or lay down and catch some rays after class. You can even stick around and try to get involved in a pickup game afterwards since there are several other courts in South Mission and people are there every weekend looking to play. Learning to play beach volleyball is one of the great San Diego things to do and you don’t need to be an Olympic athlete to pick up some basic skills and have a great time playing the sport. After learning a few key moves and some other important aspects of the game, you’ll be ready to head out to any of the other beaches in the county and get involved in games throughout the year.
