We’re fortunate that there are incredible things to do in San Diego all year long. This is a no-brainer, the annual celebration of everything pop culture takes over the Gaslamp ever July, attracting hundreds of thousands of people to our city. Try to get tickets to Comic Con as soon as they go on sale because it sells out quickly, but even if you don’t have passes you can always enjoy the people-watching and side events.
The first weekend in December it seems like all of San Diego makes their way to Balboa Park for this long running tradition. On Friday and Saturday the park is lit up and all the museums are free. There are carnival rides, special performances at the Organ Pavilion, beer gardens, and international food and drink available at the International Houses.
In early June, downtown San Diego becomes one of the best running courses in the country. If a marathon seems like too much you can choose to run a half marathon or a 5K. Whichever race you enter, you are treated to live bands as you run through the streets of downtown San Diego. A complimentary concert by big name performers is offered free of charge to participants after the race.
San Diego’s best known craft brewery has been hosting an anniversary party every year for the past two decades and it has become one of the best things to do in San Diego every year. Now held at CSU San Marcos, the festival features food, live music, and rare beers from Stone and many of the other top craft breweries from across the country.
Every April the streets of Little Italy are brought to life for one weekend with stunning displays of art from the best artists in town. Walk around and find a new piece for your home, or simply enjoy a day strolling through Little Italy and grab a bite to eat at one of the city’s top restaurants.
