Mission Bay Aquatic Center offers rentals of wakeboard boats that come with everything you need to enjoy a day at Mission Bay riding the wake of a powerful motorboat. Even if you don’t have any experience wakeboarding you can still have an amazing time learning, and before the end of the day you will be hopping up and riding the wake and performing tricks as long as you can hold on. When you rent a boat from Mission Bay Aquatic Center you don’t even have to know how to operate a boat because a Coast Guard licensed operator will be behind the wheel the whole trip. A friendly instructor can even provide you with some brief lessons on wakeboarding if you’ve never done it before. Spending a day at Mission Bay wakeboarding is one of the top things to do in San Diego and a must-try for those who have yet to do it.
Wakeboarding boats can be rented for $180 per hour with a discounted rate of $130 per hour for current SDSU or UCSD students. There is a two hour minimum and you must have at least two people in your party and no more than five. The rental price includes a boat captain who can give you some wakeboarding advice, wakeboards, bindings, and lifejackets. If wakeboarding isn’t necessarily for you, Mission Bay Aquatic Center also provides wakeskates, wakesurf boards, water skis, and inner tubes which you can also use to ride the wake behind a rented boat. When it comes to fun things to do in San Diego, it really doesn’t get much better than wakeboarding on a boat in Mission Bay. Even those who have no experience surfboarding, skateboarding, or riding any other type of board are able to enjoy learning how to wakeboard. Be prepared to get wet and enjoy the San Diego sun and you’ll have a ball.
Funbassadors who have a boat can use that as part of a FunGig and pick up some extra spending money while taking a cool person out wakeboarding and enjoying a day on the water. Funseekers get to purchase a FunGig that lets the try wakeboarding and get some helpful advice from a knowledgeable expert.
